If you have the "French" version of FALLOUT 2 the one that couldn't be cracked, you are reading the good File. So this is not a crack as you can see, but only an exploited bug of the patch version.
So to be able to play Fallout 2 you will need a Fallout 2 CD ( because I haven't found the way to play without) Just to tell the computer that you have got "a" version of the game. After you will need to copy the CD into your computeur (~= 550Mb) and to install it (the minimum intallation will be enought). Then you have to find the Patch 1.02 (french version) and to install it. Then you have to change, few lines in the "Fallout2.cfg" file:
- "music_path2=X:\data\sound\music\" to "music_path2=Y\(Directoy)\data\sound \music\"
- "critter_dat=X:\critter.dat" line to"critter_dat=Y:\(Directory)\critter.dat"
-"master_dat=X:\master.dat" by "master_dat=Y:\(Directory)\master.dat".
("X" is the CD drive letter, and "Y" the Hard disk letter in witch you copy the game);
That's all you need to do. I have tested it personnally and it works prety well. I would like to add that if it doesn't work I Am not responsible for any domages that you could Do doing this wrong.
If You want to copy the game you don't have to copy the "Laserlock" directory (You won't be able to copy one file anywere)
If you don't find the patch you can try the Interplay site but I don't realy remember Were I've found it.
